Golovin's Summer Cottage is a monument of wooden architecture of classicism. The main house was built in 1823-24 (architect LI Charlemagne) for the graph Golovin at the royal farm. The building is located in St. Petersburg at the Vyborgskaya nabereznhaya, 53.
The palace and park ensemble is a monument of history, culture and architecture of XIX century. Country palace in Sergievka and in Summer Residence was designed by Stackenschneider in 1844 - 1850.
Down to the middle of the eighteenth century only timber was used in St. Petersburg for bridges and embankments. In the 1720s, it is true, Peter I did have a masonry embankment-the city's first-built around a small boat basin in the Summer Gardens, next to the Summer Palace and the Fontanka.
